Hotel Review: Thon Hotel Terminus | Oslo

Hotel Review: Thon Hotel Terminus | Oslo

Sending a long weekend in Oslo, the Thon Hotel Terminus in Central Oslo would be my home for 3 nights.Oslo is notably an expensive city with mid-range lodging options often extending $200 USD per night. However, I was able to snag a rare deal on Booking.com for only $77 USD a night at the Thon Terminus Hotel. Quite the deal for Oslo!

Location: 4 of 5 Stars – If you’re looking for a very central location, the Thon Hotel Terminus is highly convenient to Oslo’s central train station: Upon arrival in Oslo, I took the Flytoget airport train directly from the Oslo airport to Oslo S station which was  breeze. It was then a short walk to the Thon Terminus Hotel. However, while close to trains and transit, it can be quite the walk to most of the main tourist sites.

Service: 4 of 5 Stars – The staff here was polite and cordial but not necessarily memorable. Both check-in and check-out were easy and painless. When I had questions, the staff was happy to help.

Comfort: 5 of 5 Stars –
I stayed in a Twin Room which is quite small to be honest; even by European standards. However, the room was incredibly comfortable, despite it’s small size. For a solo trip, the room suited just fine. Plus, I spent most of time time exploring the city rather than in my hotel room. The twin bed may have been small but it was extra comfy and cozy.

Cleanliness: 5 of 5 Stars – The hotel grounds were tidy and well kept. The exterior of the building is showing a bit of wear but I think the interior is what really matters. The room was very clean, including the sleep area and the bathroom.

Restaurant/Dining: N/A – I can’t rate the quality of the hotel breakfast or the service related to food as I didn’t partake. However, it is nice that they offer a complimentary full breakfast on site for guests.

Overall Rating: 4 of 5 Stars – While the Thon Hotel Terminus isn’t much more than your standard mid-range hotel, it offers a sparkling clean, well-priced and conveniently located lodging option in a very expensive city. Don’t expect a lot of space but I was more than happy with my stay; especially for the price!
