Lounge Review: Qantas First Class Lounge Sydney
Not quite ready to leave Australia but time to head home, we started our long journey back to Texas in the Qantas First Class Lounge Sydney. We had woken up quite early so I was still quite sleepy as we made our through the long security queues. The Qantas First Class Lounge Sydney is located just beyond the duty free shopping in Sydney’s Terminal 1.
Access to the Qantas First Class Lounge Sydney is granted to those traveling in a premium cabin with Qantas or OneWorld carrier, Qantas Platinum/Platinum One, Emirates Platinum, or OneWorld Emerald in any cabin of travel. One guest is permitted as well for eligible passengers.
There was an initial staff member at the front entrance doing a quick glance of boarding passes. We made our way down the expansive foyer of the lounge and up the escalators to the main check in desk where are boarding passes were scanned. Like the Qantas First Class lounge in Los Angeles, the Sydney lounge is designed by Marc Newson.
The design of the Qantas First Class Lounge Sydney is absolutely gorgeous. The expansive space with high ceilings, natural warmth, and tall windows offer a tasteful pre-departure space. And while the lounge is spacious and open, it offers plenty of private spaces to find your own nook to relax.
I love the restaurant style dining in Qantas’ First Class lounges. We had to wait a few minutes for a table while a rude passenger threw a tantrum for not getting the table she wanted. The staff handled her very professionally and were extremely polite.
We had a light breakfast in the dining room while we watch the activity on the tarmac. I had one last flat white before our Australian departure. Other than the dining room, there are self serve food and beverage stations scattered through the lounge.
While we were very sad to leave Australia after such a lovely trip, the Qantas First Class Lounge Sydney was a nice place to spend our last morning. As expected the lounge is tastefully designed with top customer service and good food. I’ll continue to look forward to any Qantas lounge experience.

Benjamin, nice review. Qantas F out of Syndey is definitely on my list. Heck, anything out of Syndey as I haven’t visited Australia yet – including Qantas. ?
Thanks, Jimmy. I love the little slice of Australia at the Qantas First LAX lounge ?
