Accommodation Review: NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding
Hopping into Madrid for a quick 24-hour visit, I booked a night at the NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding, located in the Financial District of Central Madrid. I snagged the room using a Hotels.com reward night. Had I paid out of picket, I would have paid ~$180 USD for the one night stay.
Overall Rating: 4 of 5 Stars
Service: 4 of 5 Stars
Location: 4 of 5 Stars
Comfort: 5 of 5 Stars
Cleanliness: 5 of 5 Stars
The hotel is located inside the Euribuilding, a multi-use hightrise in Madrid. The building houses a variety of offices, a health club, restaurants, bars, and the NH Collection Hotel. From the moment you step in the door, the decor is a bit non-traditional, but hip. The lobby is full of young professionals and hotel guests, lounging around the bar or one of the many seating areas scattered through the main floor.
Service
I’m giving my Service rating 4 out of 5 but don’t read to much into that. I didn’t have a ton of interaction with the staff other than checking in and checking out. But both of those interactions were pleasant and polite.
Location
The NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding is located in the Chamartín neighborhood of Central Madrid. It’s just a short walk from the Cuzco metro station, the location of the hotel works well for many business travelers. Since my visit was centered around writing and visiting tourism sites, the location was so-so for me. With convenient metro access, Central Madrid and the city’s tourist sites, getting around isn’t too much trouble. For airport access, it’s only a one transfer ride from Madrid-Barajas Airport via Metro lines 8 and 10.
Comfort
I received a room on the 14th floor with a fantastic view of Madrid’s Financial District and Puerta de Europa. The expansive windows made the view one of my favorite things about the room. On first impressions, the clean and modern decor was top notch. By European standards, the sheer spaciousness of the room was impressive.
Due to my short stay, I’m not sure I got to truly enjoy the full comfort of my room but I sure tried to take it all in. The bed was soft and spacious with crisp linens. I loved the look of the LED lighting around the bed base. The desk was a great work space for catching up on some quick blogging.
The bathroom was another favorite feature of the room. It’s enormous size made me want to spend all day freshening up. The luxurious rain shower was reminiscent of a Cathay Pacific lounge. The in-house toiletries were of good quality with more than the average guest would need. I don’t always use hotel robes or slippers but I definitely made use of the ones supplied here.
Cleanliness
The room itself was near spotless. Every bit of the room from the linens to the bathroom were impeccably cleaned. A clean room is a happy room for me!
Overall
I have to say I’m sold on the NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding hotel. I think the location is a tad bit of a compromise for my needs but everything else was a winner for me. The high-end style, the spaciousness of the room, and the expansive city view all won me over. On top of all the things I loved about this hotel, the fact that I redeemed a Hotels.com Rewards night, made it even sweeter!
