Lounge Review: Budapest Premium Airport Lounge
Flying aboard Club Europe from Budapest to London Heathrow, we were provided access to the Budapest Premium Airport Lounge, which is located very near the British Airways gates. We didn’t have a lot of time to spend here but I wanted to grab a quick bite and check some emails before departure.
The Budapest Premium Airport Lounge is in the non-Schengen zone. You’ll the head up a staircase to the upper level above the gate area. A lot of airlines utilize this lounge plus Priority Pass members. Check-in was quick although the staff was direct and to the point. Not much hospitality to speak of. It was likely due to our early departure time, but this lounge was very quiet with only handful of passengers. I only counted 5 other passengers in the lounge.
Food and drinks were a little above standard with several breakfast options at 7 AM although all cold food: Cereals, cakes, crackers, snack bars, pastries, and yogurts. Drinks were all self-service including bottled beer, bottled water, juices, fountain sodas, and wine. There were also hot food options available for purchase. The food and drink area was very well kept and organized.
The seating was very plentiful with lots of table sets, armchairs, and sofas. I loved the big round sofa with great plane-spotting view. The lounge is clean and well maintained with the furniture in good condition. The lounge does not have a restroom inside the lounge but the restroom was located right outside the lounge entrance. Usually this irritates me but the lounge is on a floor above the main terminal so it isn’t used much. The WiFi connection was about average but was an actual improvement over the fussy public WiFi in the Budapest airport.
I took some time to snap a few photos and grab a drink. Unusually, I was craving a soda at 8 AM. After checking a few emails, it was already time to head to our boarding gate. As we left, I don’t think there was a simple staff member in the lounge.
All in, this was a pretty standard Priority Pass lounge. Don’t expect much in terms of service but expect a quiet place to catch up on work and grab a coffee and snack. Plus, the plane-spotting views are top notch!
