Hotel Review: Apartamenty Parkside Kraków
As part of our 9-day trek through Central and Eastern Europe, we spent 3 days in Krakow, Poland, taking in the sights and scenery of the city and the surrounding towns. We booked a unique “hotel” property, the Apartamenty Parkside Kraków. Located just outside the city center, this property was unique in the sense that it was somewhere between a hotel and an Airbnb type property.

Service: The room was booked through Hotels.com and I wasn’t provided any specific instructions on arrival at Apartamenty Parkside. We did arrive after 9 PM but I didn’t expect it to be any issue. After our car service dropped is off, we headed inside the apartment building which is also attached to a bank. There was a a family checking in as well and they were talking to a security guard who did no speak English. He was making a phone call and the family said the manager had to be called down to check us in. After waiting for 5 minutes or so, the hotel manager arrived. Igor was the general manager and he was extremely warm and friendly. He provided us with our key and made sure we had everything we needed.
We received not one, but two welcome gifts in the room: A bottle of wine and a Krakow tote bag to take home. Nice touch!
Check-out time is officially 10 AM which is a bit on the early side but on the morning of our check-out, the manager on duty was flexible and allowed us to check out at 11 AM.
The Room: While the rooms are numbered, they also come with nicknames. We had the “Euphoria” room which complimented that fact that our bed was round. Yep, we had a round bed!
Staying true to the Apartamenty theme, the room is more like a studio flat than a hotel room. There was a small kitchenette, a nicely sized bathroom (complete with washing machine), a very spacious rain shower, a small dining table, and a private balcony. There’s also a pull-out leather sofa in the room for your extra guest.
The kitchenette was stocked with all the basics if you desire to cook during your stay. Our stay was far too short to take advantage of the kitchenette. The bathroom was very spacious featuring ample counter space, a large rain shower, and a washing machine. All were lovely amenities although the washing machine had to be the tiniest I have ever seen! And while the washing machine is a convenient amenity, there is no dryer. Air dry required!
WiFi in the apartment was super fast and I appreciate that you could just enter in the network password once and surf. No unnecessary login back in every time you want to open your device. Last of all, there was a nice balcony in the apartment with a small dining table and chairs, complete with courtyard views.
Cleanliness: The room was absolutely immaculate. I don’t think it’s possible for the room to be any cleaner. I always appreciate a well-cleaned room!
Location: The property is located right outside the old city center. It’s less than a kilometer walk to the hear of the city so far enough to enjoy peace and quiet but still quiet convenient for restaurants, bars, shopping, and sightseeing.
Final Verdict: Overall, the somewhat strange check-in was the only issue with our stay. And even that was quite minor. The overall proactive management went out of their way to accommodate any request to make our stay more comfortable. My impression of the property and the room was overwhelmingly positive. The room has all the necessary amenities for a long or short stay with nearly all the features of home. The accommodations were exceedingly comfortable and clean and the price…very reasonable! I would absolutely recommend the Apartamenty Parkside Krakow as a lodging option to anyone visit Krakow.
