Delta Announces New Service From New York JFK to Lagos, Nigeria

Delta airlines is announcing new service to Africa from it’s hub at New York JFK to Lagos, Nigeria. Already serving Africa’s largest metropolis from Atlanta, this new route will compliment Delta’s modest route network to Africa. Delta currently offers service to Accra, Ghana; Dakar, Senegal; and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Service will operate 3x weekly in each direction and begins March 24, 2018. The route will be operated on an Airbus A330-200, featuring 34 Business Class seats in Delta One, 32 in Delta Comfort+ and 168 seats in the Economy Class.

Here’s the weekly schedule for the upcoming route:

New York to Lagos

DL 415, Departs New York JFK at 10:50 pm, arrives in Lagos next day at 2:05 pm (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday)

Lagos to New York

DL 215, Departs Lagos at 10:30 pm, arrives in New York next dat at 5:30 am (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

The timing of this departures makes for each connections at JFK in both directions with a late departure eastbound and an early arrival westbound. Delta is continuing to make route additions to New York JFK while American Airlines is trimming back and investing in Philadelphia.
